Former Disneyland Executive Hired by Chinese Theme Park Operator
Dalian Wanda Group Co., Chinese conglomerate controlled by billionaire Wang Jianlin, has hired a senior former Walt Disney Co. executive to run its amusement parks.
Andrew Kam will be the new vice president of the Chinese company’s Cultural Tourism Group.

New Castle-Projection Show Debuts November 4 at Magic Kingdom
New ‘Once Upon A Time’ castle projection show which is a version of that one at Tokyo Disneyland, is coming soon to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. The show is set to start in only a few days- November 4, 2016.

SeaWorld to Introduce Virtual Reality Roller Coaster
Central Florida‘s first virtual-reality roller coaster will be introduced next summer. Riders on Kraken will be offered virtual-reality headsets covering their eyes and ears. The riders will have the sensation of being on a mission through the sea amid mythical and prehistoric creatures.

Disney has filed a patent that will allow its theme park visitors to battle with “real” lightsabers.
It appears the patent was filed in 2015, one year before Disney announced it would be opening Star Wars Land at both Disneyland and Disney World.

Disney has obtained a patent for a new type of technology. A system that will allow its amusement parks to track guests through their shoes, using a camera-wielding robot.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded Walt Disney Co. a patent for a system that would allow its theme parks to start tracking guests through their shoes, by using sensors. Disney Lifts Veil off Shanghai Park
Shanghai Disneyland has opened its doors for a test run ahead of the giant theme park’s official opening next month. Stunning aerial images showed China’s Disneyland lit up for the first time.
The resort’s employees, partners and stakeholders received a sneak preview of the $5.5 Billion Shanghai Park on Saturday. Disney guests can only try out some attractions, entertainment and dining facilities on selected dates over a six-week period while the world’s largest entertainment company is getting ready for the official opening of its first Disney park in Shanghai. Cedar Point Opens Latest Record Breaking Roller Coaster
Cedar Point, in Sandusky, Ohio is clearly on the hunt for thrill-seekers with its newest addition, dubbed Valravn which is the latest record breaking roller coaster. After months of anticipation from coaster fans across the country, Cedar Point opened to the public its newest addition last Saturday- the same day the park opened for the season.
Named after a supernatural raven from Danish folklore, the new ride Valravn (VAL’-ray-vuhn) is now recognized as the tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster. The Cedar Point’s new attraction is the third dive coaster to open in the United States. SeaWorld’s Mako Roller Coaster Now in Testing Phase
Mako SeaWorld’s shark-inspired roller coaster is one step closer to reality
The hypercoaster, that was recently under construction, is now in testing mode. Empty ride vehicles have been spotted running along the truck. Roller coasters over 200 feet tall are given the designation of hyper coaster.
SeaWorld shared a test ride video of its newest roller coaster Mako, giving people a rider’s view of the attraction The video was released on the company’s facebook page a few days ago. The video showed off a number of twists and turns from the first person perspective.
