King Kong Returns to Universal Studios Orlando

King_Kong_1933_Italian_posterComcast Corp.’s executives have recently confirmed a King Kong attraction is set to land at Universal’s Island of Adventure.

 Universal is moving forward with their plans to construct a new King Kong ride, a new resort and a long-rumored water park at Orlando. The company is currently building the new 1,000-room Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, which is scheduled to open in 2016 and there are also permits filed for the water park.

 Rumors about a new King Kong ride in one of the parks had been spread by theme park fans for months until last year Universal Orlando filed a permit application with the city of Orlando for a demolition project and they started to clear the space. Skyfall, the world’s tallest drop tower, coming to International Drive

polercosterThere’s another ‘world’s tallest’ addition to the SkyPlex, coming to Orlando’s I-Drive tourist corridor- Skyfall and it will be the world’s tallest drop ride, according to Joshua Wallack, managing principal of the Skyplex development. The attraction will join the Skyscraper roller coaster at the upcoming Skyplex complex. The 570-foot tall Skyscraper will be the world’s tallest roller coaster when it opens in 2017. Legoland to open new land and hotel this year

800px-Lego_Factory_Legoland_FloridaLegoland Florida is continuing its expansion into a multiday resort by offering its guests a couple of new things later this year: the Legoland Hotel and a new Lego Friends area.

Farewell to Mickey Sorcerer’s Hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Believe it or not, it would be your last chance to take final pictures with Mickey’s iconic sorcerer’s hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. In October 2014, Disney revealed that the structure will be removed by early 2015, and then on January 2, 2015, the company confirmed that the deconstruction of Hollywood Studios’ big hat begins on January 7th. Richard Branson under attack to stop selling SeaWorld trips

800px-Orca_Orlando_SeaworldThe billionaire founder of Virgin Group has been set under fire in a new campaign by animal rights groups for its partnership with SeaWorld. Richard Branson’s company is criticized to sell packages to SeaWorld where whales and dolphins are kept and perform in tanks for tourists. The campaign is held by Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC), a wildlife charity which is dedicated to the worldwide conservation and welfare of all whales, dolphins and porpoises. Drones coming to Disney World

400px-Disneyworld_fireworks_-_0215Disney is planning to use drones as part of their theme park shows. Last week, the mega-amusement park filed for three drone patents, envisioning flying robots that could animate giant puppet Disney characters, carry large aerial projection screens or act as floating pixels in virtual fireworks shows.

According to the three recently published patent applications, the first one describes the use of multiple drones that pull the strings on super-large marionettes, moving their limbs. I-Drive 360- Orlando’s newest entertainment complex- what to expect

800px-Aquarium_tropical_-_bac_marinThe new entertainment complex on Orlando International Drive, I-Drive 360, is scheduled to open in phases starting spring 2015 and will be headlined by its exciting attractions: the Orlando Eye observation wheel, Sea Life aquarium and Madame Tussauds Orlando wax museum; Skeletons, a Museum of Osteology; Titanic – The Experience, and there’s also a mega-attraction that remains a mystery for now. Diagon Alley opening date officially announced

Diagon_Alley-geograph.org.uk-3264063Harry Potter Diagon Alley Wizarding World officially debuts on July 8, Universal Orlando announced on Wednesday. The news surprised many theme park fans who had hoped for a June opening.

At a red carpet event Universal Orlando made a special preview of the widely anticipated attraction. Many film stars, Helena Bonham Carter, Wardwick Davis, Robbie Coltrane, Tom Felton came to the ceremony on Wednesday night and were greeted by a huge horde of international media and screaming fans.
