Canada’s Porter Airlines Adds Florida to Its Route Map

Porter_Airlines_Q-400_at_TorontoCanada’s Porter Airlines, headquartered at Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto, announced Monday, that it is adding its first Florida destination- Melbourne.

The airline, that is an award-winning air carrier, said it enters the Florida market for the first time and it has selected Melbourne International Airport for its first destination in the Sunshine State.

Emirates Starts Daily Service to Orlando

The daily service started on Tuesday when an Airbus A380 touched down at Orlando International Airport just after 11:30 a.m. East Coast time. A water salute welcomed the Airbus A380 when it landed at Orlando International Airport as it was the first of its kind ever scheduled to land at the airport in Orlando. TSA Reminds Parents to Check Kids’ Carry-on after Two Incidents in Florida

After the two incidents, the officials from Transportation Security Administration released a reminder to parents to check their kids’ luggage while packing and before leaving to the airport.

Earlier this week, Thursday, Aug. 7, 2015, a 12-year-old boy caused panic at Jacksonville International Airport when security officers found a grenade during an inspection of his hand luggage. The agents made the shocking discovery while the boy and his parents were going through a checkpoint.

Emirates Airline Adding Daily Orlando to Dubai Flights

Ebola scare delayed flight at Orlando Airport

800px-Ebola_Virus_TEM_PHIL_1832_loresA flight from Houston was delayed at Orlando Airport, after a traveler began showing signs of illness. The plane was bound for BWI.

The incident happened at 3 pm last Monday on flight 718 of Southwest Airlines, according to airport officials. Immediately after it was revealed that the passenger had traveled to Kenya in West Africa in August, the pilot notified the Center for Disease Control. Orlando International ranked the fifth best airport in the U.S.

From December 2, 2013 to March 31, 2014, the magazine’s readers were asked to vote for their favorite airport and the criteria included logistics and convenience.
