I-Drive 360- Orlando’s newest entertainment complex- what to expect

800px-Aquarium_tropical_-_bac_marinThe new entertainment complex on Orlando International Drive, I-Drive 360, is scheduled to open in phases starting spring 2015 and will be headlined by its exciting attractions: the Orlando Eye observation wheel, Sea Life aquarium and Madame Tussauds Orlando wax museum; Skeletons, a Museum of Osteology; Titanic – The Experience, and there’s also a mega-attraction that remains a mystery for now. Fire officials rescue guests from the Transformers at Universal

480px-Transformers_costume_characters_at_Universal_Studios_HollywoodOrlando firefighters rescued 12 guests stuck on the 3-D Transformers ride at Universal Orlando on Tuesday morning. According to Local 6, riders were taken off the ride but no injuries were reported. Fire officials confirmed they were performing a “technical rescue” and the 12 guests were safely assisted out of the vehicle.

Casey Ruston, 20, from New Jersey, who was on the 3-D Transformers ride with her family of six: her grandparents and siblings, was a passenger on the Ride 3-D when suddenly it broke down. Orlando International ranked the fifth best airport in the U.S.

800px-Orlando_International_Airport_terminal_from_arriving_airplaneTravel & Leisure Magazine announced the results of its latest survey. According to its annual “World’s Best Awards”, Orlando International Airport was ranked among the nation’s top five domestic airports.

From December 2, 2013 to March 31, 2014, the magazine’s readers were asked to vote for their favorite airport and the criteria included logistics and convenience. The long-awaited Dr Phillips Center revealed performances but not opening activities

After the announcement that Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts will host splashy Broadway shows, co-presented with Florida Theatrical Association: “The Phantom of the Opera” in December and “The Book of Mormon” at Christmas, as well as Orlando Ballet with “Swan Lake” and “The Nutcracker”, representatives of Dr. Phillips Center unveiled a few days ago other shows to be seen during the new center’s first months of operation. Diagon Alley opening date officially announced

Diagon_Alley-geograph.org.uk-3264063Harry Potter Diagon Alley Wizarding World officially debuts on July 8, Universal Orlando announced on Wednesday. The news surprised many theme park fans who had hoped for a June opening.

At a red carpet event Universal Orlando made a special preview of the widely anticipated attraction. Many film stars, Helena Bonham Carter, Wardwick Davis, Robbie Coltrane, Tom Felton came to the ceremony on Wednesday night and were greeted by a huge horde of international media and screaming fans. Gorgeous views of Orlando from the top of a new multi-story parking garage

mangos logoDavid and Joshua Wallack, the developers of the $50 million Mango’s Tropical Café on International Drive will replace a current Walgreens with a new seven-story public parking garage.

A 12,000 to 15,000 square feet glass-enclosed restaurant will be added on the top of the garage. The restaurant will feature an outdoor patio offering wonderful views of the Orlando tourist corridor.

In addition, the new parking garage is planned to have about 12,000-square-foot retail space on the ground level.

Orlando to get the world’s tallest roller coaster

polercosterOn June 5, Michael Kitchen, the President of Orlando-based US Thrill Rides officially announced at a press conference on International Drive that the world’s taller roller coaster, also known as the Polercoaster, is coming to I-Drive in 2016.

A new era for transportation in our region has started

Last week, Florida approved plans for construction of a privately funded floating train that would link the convention center with Orlando International Airport and will be the first of its kind.

Momondo.co.uk, a top metasearch, released the results of their UK flight search data. For the last three month, Orlando in the United States’ ‘Sunshine State’ Florida is the top most-searched destination amongst the British vacationers.

Orlando is a desired destination for the beaches but most of all for the great variety of entertainment options it offers to the tourists. It is widely famous for Disney Resort, fast rides and killer whale shows.

Alicante and Malaga in Spain appeared in the 3rd and 4th position on the list of the top most popular holiday destinations for this summer.
