Disney World officially opened its Skyliner service to the public, giving Orlando<\/a> guests high-flying transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disney World<\/a> has introduced the Skyliner, an aerial cable car system with 300 colorful gondolas that whisk visitors from hotels to theme parks. Six miles of cable and five stations link Walt Disney World’s resorts with Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot Center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The neon-colored cars are painted with the images of almost two dozen Disney characters and can carry no more than 10 people each. The cable cars will arrive every 10 seconds, allowing the cabin system to handle about 3,000 passengers an hour. Painted in cheerful shades of red, blue, green, yellow and purple, they take guests on the three lines to five stations where tourists can access nine resorts out of more than two dozen and two parks out of four. A gentle breeze keeps guests cool while gliding above the resorts, they take in birds-eye views of Epcot’s Spaceship Earth and the Swan and Dolphin Resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gondolas were previewed Friday in Florida and launched\non Sunday. Almost 300 enclosed cable cars move three stories above the ground\nat 11 and to help guests get around as Disney\nWorld’s size is the same as San Francisco\u2019s and double the size of Manhattan in\nNew York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
