Floridian\nresidents are on high alert as hurricane Dorian approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dorian is expected to hit Florida <\/a>as a dangerous category 4 storm. Floridians are racing to get ready and rushed to supermarkets across the states collecting food and supplies. Tourists are scrambling to get out as the dangerous hurricane is getting closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Dorian\nis expected to become \u201ca major hurricane on Friday and remain an extremely\ndangerous hurricane through the weekend,” according to the National\nHurricane Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hurricane’s winds topped Category 2 strength on Thursday night measured at 105 mph with the potential to become an “extremely dangerous” Category 4 storm or higher with top forecast winds of 150 mph. Forecasters said it is expected to hit Florida even harder than previously. The storm is on track to become the strongest direct hit to the state\u2019s east coast since Hurricane Andrew was blamed for 44 deaths in the state in 1992. Anything at Category 3 or above is considered a major hurricane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the National Weather Service Hurricane Dorian could bring a “triple-threat of dangers” to the Sunshine State, including “life-threatening storm surge, devastating hurricane-force winds, and heavy rains,” and they urged Floridians to “Prepare NOW.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airlines\nhave canceled 83 flights to, from and within the U.S. and five have been\ncanceled for Friday. Flights to and from Orlando, Miami and other airports in\nthe area are expected to be most affected. The number of cancellations is going\nto increase closer to Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At\nleast 12 cruise ships’ itineraries from Disney, Royal Caribbean, & Carnival\nwere modified to avoid Dorian only on Wednesday and their number is increasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dorian\nwill likely make landfall on Florida\u2019s eastern coast on Monday, before\nlingering over central Florida on Tuesday, the hurricane center said in an\nadvisory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency on Thursday for all of the state’s 67 counties and asked residents along the east coast of Florida to stock up with at least seven days of supplies, including water, food, and medicine. “If you’re in the path of this storm,  make your preparations,” he said at a press conference Thursday. “Take action.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
