It will be among only a few
of airport fly-in hotels nationwide.

Airport’s
monthly passenger counts increased by double digit percentages in the fourth
quarter of 2018, closing out the calendar year at approximately 500,000: it’s
highest in more than a decade. The airport operations alone increased by 26%
last year and it tends to continue. 2,000,000 passengers can be accommodated at
the terminal annually.

Orlando
Melbourne International Airport’s Request for Proposals includes a minimum 20,000 square feet of
meeting and event space. The hotel will include 200 guest rooms, a fine dining
restaurant, rooftop bar, outdoor pool, sundeck, and fitness amenities. There
will be a VIP/concierge floor and 2 front doors: 1 that people can enter from street-side and the terminals, and the
other that passengers can step straight off the tarmac and into.

According
to the airport spokesperson, Lori Booker, back-door will be for corporate
jets “that just pull right up on the tarmac and come in and check in.” Booker guaranteed
that the door will be secure. The idea is not very popular among the
airports, but the staff at MLB thinks it will be a perfect fit. It is believed
that a high-end hotel that can be easily accessed will be a big draw for the
airport’s heavy corporate clients, federal contractors and the aerospace
industry in the area.

According to Florida Today.

Passengers will soon step off their plane and right into a unique high-end hotel on the Space Coast.
