The Star Wars attractions are scheduled to open at California’s Disneyland and Florida’s Walt Disney World in 2019, Disney CEO Bob Iger made the announcement during an investor call a few days ago.
The 14-acre attractions were first announced in 2015. They are currently under construction at the parks and represent Disney’s largest single-theme land expansion ever. According to the DisneyParks blog, the lands will feature aliens and droids, various markets, landing zones, and buildings, as well as an epic attraction like Han Solo’s life-sized Millennium Falcon spaceship while on a mission that visitors will be able to pilot. The lands will also include a signature Star Wars adventure that puts visitors in the middle of an epic battle between First Order stormtroopers and the Resistance, and they will be given the chance to visit a remote trading port. Ringling Bros Closes ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ after 146 Years
After 146 years, Ringling Bros will close the iconic “Greatest Show on Earth.”
Employees were told the sad news a few days ago in Orlando. Its last performance is scheduled for May 21 at the Nassau Coliseum. The circus will have 30 more performances. Some of them will be in Atlanta, Washington, Boston, and Philadelphia. Other stops on the show’s last tour include Long Island and Brooklyn.

Universal Announces Opening Date for Jimmy Fallon attraction
Universal Orlando has announced that its brand new attraction, called Ride Through New York With Jimmy Fallon, will officially debut on April 6, Thursday.
The grand opening date was announced by Jimmy Fallon on his late-night NBC talk show last Thursday. Moreover, Fallon will be taping “The Tonight Show” at the theme park from April 3 to April 6.

Space X Says September Rocket Explosion Caused by Helium Loading Issue
After finishing its investigation, Space X says the September 1 explosion of its Falcon 9 rocket occurred due to the failure of a helium storage tank. Space X is now targeting January 8 for its return to flight.

Skyplex to Add a New Sky-High Attraction
Joshua Wallack is bringing a sixth major attraction to the much-anticipated project on International Drive.
Skyplex developer is now characterizing his $460 million massive entertainment, retail and dining complex as a full-day theme park and claims the new addition, called SkyLedge will be the first of its kind in the U.S. allowing tourists to walk around the outside of the tower.

Universal’s Volcano Bay to Use Magnetic Technology
Volcano Bay water park will get new wearable technology and
bright lava effects, said Universal when the new Orlando’s coming attraction was revealed last week.
Unniversal announced new details about its coming Volcano Bay water park. A wristband will alert guests when it’s time to get to the next ride.

Orlando International Airport to Shut Down Operations at 8 p.m. Thursday
Thursday morning, Orlando International Airport officials announced that the airport will be closed to commercial operations starting at 8 p.m. because of Hurricane Matthew. The announcement was made on the airport’s official twitter page.
An airport spokesman confirmed that OIA will close at 8 a.m. and hopes to reopen on Saturday but only after damage assessment is done. However, Mathhew has been unpredictable until now and it is not known for sure when it will resume flight operations. Convention Center at Walt Disney World’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort to Be Expanded
The convention center at Walt Disney World’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort will add 25,000 square feet over the next 2 years. The available convention space at the resort is currently 75,000 square feet, but it will be expanded to 100,000 square feet.

Universal Orlando Opens Its Fifth Hotel Sapphire Falls Resort
Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, located between Royal Pacific and Cabana Bay Beach resorts, officially opened its doors and greeted its first guests on Thursday morning.
