Loews Hotels & Resorts to bring a 1,000-room hotel to Universal Orlando Resort

800px-Pool_at_the_Decameron_Resort_in_Panama_02Loews Hotels & Resorts has revealed plans to open a 1,000-room hotel at Universal Orlando.

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will debut in the summer of 2016. The hotel will be located between the recently opened Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Loews Royal Pacific Resort and it will be the fifth hotel to open at Universal Orlando.

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will include 77 suites and it will bring the number of rooms at Universal Orlando to 5,200. The hotel will have a colorful, Caribbean atmosphere and more than 131,000 square feet of meeting space, announced an official release.

The themed resort will be built around a lagoon and towering waterfalls. It is being promoted as a “colorful Caribbean hideaway” and will include a pool with a water slide, sandy beach and a fire pit in the central courtyard that will be surrounded by the hotel’s rooms. Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will also boast a full-service restaurant offering scenic views and outdoor dining, a quick-service market place and poolside bar. The property will take bookings from the spring of 2015.
