SeaWorld’s Mako Roller Coaster Opens June 10

Fight your fear and get ready for the wildest ride in Orlando.

SeaWorld Orlando has announced an opening date for its new thrill ride, the Mako Hypercoaster. Theme-park guests will be able to board Orlando’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster on June 10, when the new shark-themed ride will have its grand opening, according to the press release.

Just last month the final piece of SeaWorld’s hypercoaster Mako was installed. The park has been touting Mako as the longest, tallest and fastest in Orlando. Named after a fast shark that changes course abruptly, the roller coaster will boast a 4,760-feet long track with tight twists and turns, sharp drops and “shark-attack speeds.” Continue reading “SeaWorld’s Mako Roller Coaster Opens June 10”

Family of Six Refugees Stuck Living at Airport for More Than 50 Days

South_Lebanon_refugeeDo you remember Viktor Navorski, a character portrayed by Tom Hanks in the 2004 The Terminal, a film directed by Steven Spielberg? Navorski is forced to stay at a New York City airport after officials say he is denied enrty into the US and at the same time he cannot return to his native country because a war has broken out there.

Unfortunately, it seems the same story may happen to people in real life. A Kurdish family of six has been stuck at a Russian airport for more than 50 days while  they were attempting to claim asylum in the country after fleeing Syria. IFly to Build Another Attraction on I-Drive, Orlando

800px-Vertical_wind_tunnel_simulated_skydivingIFly Orlando is planning to build a new skydiving attraction on a location closer to Pointe Orlando and the Orange County Convention Center. The new attraction will be located between Icebar Orlando and Wonder Works.

Fast and Furious: Supercharged Coming to Universal Orlando in 2017

800px-Fast_and_Furious_6_Premier_7_(8749822359)An all-new ride, based on Universal Pictures’ huge Fast and the Furious franchise, will be coming to Universal Orlando Resort in 2017, Universal confirmed officially via its blog on Tuesday.

The ride is called Fast & Furious: Supercharged, and is similar to the attraction using the same name at Universal Studios Hollywood whichopened earlier this year. Fast & Furious: Supercharged opened as part of the iconic Tram Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood, California in June and at a grand-opening event, actress Michelle Rodriguez is rumored to mention a future ride in Orlando. Florida in the Top List of the Fastest Growing Areas in the US

Florida was home to six of the nation’s 20 fastest-growing metro areas from 2013 to 2014. It seems the beautiful weather, beaches and palm trees in the Sunshine State are drawing more and more Americans and Florida has become the nation’s third most-populous state displacing New York. The $500 million Dr Phillips center finally opened its doors

800px-Ballet-Ballerina-1847The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts officially opened its doors in downtown Orlando after a 25-year period of planning and fundraising. Construction works began three years ago.

Hundreds gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony that was held at the corner of South Street and Orange Avenue on Thursday morning. Mayors Buddy Dyer and Teresa Jacobs, governmental officials, donors, members of the arts and over 100 representatives of the media attended the event. Dyer called the grand opening of the center “once-in-a-lifetime event” for the city. While speaking at the ceremony, officials said they expect the center to host 300 events a year and emphasized the positive economic and cultural impacts on the Central Florida community. Fire officials rescue guests from the Transformers at Universal

480px-Transformers_costume_characters_at_Universal_Studios_HollywoodOrlando firefighters rescued 12 guests stuck on the 3-D Transformers ride at Universal Orlando on Tuesday morning. According to Local 6, riders were taken off the ride but no injuries were reported. Fire officials confirmed they were performing a “technical rescue” and the 12 guests were safely assisted out of the vehicle.

Casey Ruston, 20, from New Jersey, who was on the 3-D Transformers ride with her family of six: her grandparents and siblings, was a passenger on the Ride 3-D when suddenly it broke down. Orlando is the most sought-after holiday destination for Brits this season

Momondo.co.uk, a top metasearch, released the results of their UK flight search data. For the last three month, Orlando in the United States’ ‘Sunshine State’ Florida is the top most-searched destination amongst the British vacationers.

Orlando is a desired destination for the beaches but most of all for the great variety of entertainment options it offers to the tourists. It is widely famous for Disney Resort, fast rides and killer whale shows.

Alicante and Malaga in Spain appeared in the 3rd and 4th position on the list of the top most popular holiday destinations for this summer.

Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley and Hogwarts Express to open by mid-summer
