A rocket prototype developed by SpaceX, Mark 1, partially exploded during a pressure test conducted in Boca Chica, Texas.
The incident happened at the company’s launch site in Boca Chica this week and was captured on a Livestream by a YouTube user. During the test, the upper portion of the rocket blew apart and heavy plumes of smoke flowed from the vehicle, sending shrapnel flying into the air.

Construction works continue on Virgin Trains high-speed rail service across the state of Florida.
Formally known as Brightline, the train will connect Orlando to West Palm Beach, down to Miami, with speeds up to 125 mph.
Florida’s new high-speed rail system is part of a goal to get 3 million cars off the road. The rail is expected to cost $2.5 billion, including a $70 million maintenance facility south of the Orlando International Airport.

Disney World guests got stuck on Skyliner gondolas for hours Saturday night.
Riders on Disney’s new Skyliner aerial cable car system were stranded for three hours Saturday night after gondolas became stuck in the air, according to witnesses and social media posts.

Orlando International Airport reopens for flights noon Wednesday, airport officials announced.
The Orlando airport was closed at 2 a.m. Tuesday in preparations for Hurricane Dorian. Greater Orlando Aviation Authority officials, after consulting with the National Weather Service, said it is safe to reopen the state’s busiest airport.
Walt Disney World theme parks in Florida closed Tuesday afternoon ahead of forecasted strong winds and heavy rain. The approaching storm also forced Orlando International Airport to stop operations at 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Orlando International Airport will remain open on Monday, according to a statement of officials.
As the forecast for Hurricane Dorian shifted further off Florida’s east coast, Orlando International Airport will continue with operations on Monday, despite a previous tweet saying it would cease flights at 2 a.m. Monday on September 2.
The Orlando International Airport announced on Saturday night that flight operations will continue on Monday. Airport officials say Dorian’s changing track is the reason behind the decision of lifting its previous planned closure and they will keep an eye on the storm.

Dorian is expected to hit Florida as a dangerous category 4 storm. Floridians are racing to get ready and rushed to supermarkets across the states collecting food and supplies. Tourists are scrambling to get out as the dangerous hurricane is getting closer.

SpaceX successfully launched its 18th cargo flight to the space station Thursday evening.
The Space-X Dragon Capsule lifted off at 6:01 p.m., from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
Thunderstorms moving across Florida delayed a launch attempt on Wednesday and the weather predictions indicated a low chance for launch Thursday as more stormy weather was expected. However, clouds thinned out and right on time the Falcon 9 roared to life and lifted off.

Universal Orlando admitted workers and customers received electric shocks at Volcano Bay water theme park after employees had been hospitalized.
Universal Studios’ Orlando, Florida resort’s Volcano Bay water theme park closed early on Sunday after several customers and workers complained of electric shocks and the Orlando Fire Department transported four patients to area hospitals.

A New York man rents a billboard to get a dream job at Walt Disney World.
How far would you go to land the job of your dreams? For one Central Florida man, the sky, or almost, was the limit.
In an attempt to get the attention of the company’s HR department, a man looking for a job in Walt Disney World rented a billboard near the park in Orlando, Florida.
The billboard along State Road 535 reads, “Dear Walt Disney World Executives and HR, experienced EA/PA Professional seeking a position as a WDW Assistant.” It provides his phone number and email address “futureWDWassistant@gmail.com.”
