Universal Studios theme park plans to reopen to the public at reduced capacity on June 5, the company said on Thursday. The announcement was made during an Orange County, Florida Economic Recovery Task Force meeting attended by county, health department experts, and community leaders. The Economic Recovery Task Force approved Universal’s plans to restart on June 5.

Disney Springs is set to partially reopen to the public today, May 20.
It will be a phased reopening with a limited number of shopping and dining options reopening first, according to the Disney Parks Blog. Disney Springs will be open from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
All guests aged three and older will be required to wear face coverings when visiting Disney Springs. Guests will also be asked to have their temperature taken and anyone with a temperature above 100.4 will not be allowed to enter.

A YouTube channel is bringing Disney World and Universal Studios rides to people’s homes with virtual reality and it is for free. The videos have a remote in the corner of the screen that allows the virtual riders to navigate their view of the attraction.

SpaceX’s next launches have been postponed by international travel restrictions imposed because of the growing coronavirus pandemic.
The launch that would have sent a Falcon 9 rocket to deliver a satellite into orbit around Earth, was originally scheduled for March 30. The satellite is part of a program for the Argentinian space agency CONAE. Now it seems that launch won’t take place and it is unclear exactly when it may be rescheduled. The launch was set to take place at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

A Florida man was arrested for pulling the most COVID-19-esque crime imaginable: the toilet paper theft.
Angel Esteban Hernandezcinto, 31, was arrested in the Sunshine State in the early morning hours of Thursday for allegedly stealing 66 rolls of toilet paper from a hotel amid a nationwide shortage caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Investigators said that it happened at the Marriott Hotel in Orlando.

“Everyone is becoming a pilot, every neighborhood is becoming an airport,” said Timothy Bean, CEO, Fortem Technologies.
Orlando Sanford International Airport is not using the system but Executive Vice President George Speake says drones are on their radar.

Named after the icy Arctic summits, Ice Breaker is currently under construction near to Shamu Stadium and the Wild Arctic attraction and is scheduled to open in the spring of this year.
SeaWorld invited media and bloggers to take a quick tour behind the construction walls to see how the coaster is progressing. The new attraction is about two-thirds of the way to completion and the rest of the track is currently being installed.

Ice Breaker at SeaWorld Orlando, coming spring 2020
Ice Breaker will be SeaWorld Orlando’s first launched roller coaster. Opening this coming spring, it will be built in the Wild Arctic area of the park. The coaster will take riders both forward and backward, with speeds reaching 52 miles per hour on a 90-second trip. With a track length of 2,750 feet, it will reach a maximum height of 95 feet.

Elon Musk shared an animation that reveals details on SpaceX progress and what the company soon hopes to achieve after nearly a decade of effort.
Musk shared a video showing the SpaceX team working on building the curved dome that will be mounted atop the completed Starship SN1. The digit likely stands for “number 1”. Musk added that each new SN version of the rocket builds will have minor improvements “at least through the first 20 or so versions”, so it is clear they expect to test these quickly.
