IFly Orlando is planning to build a new skydiving attraction on a location closer to Pointe Orlando and the Orange County Convention Center. The new attraction will be located between Icebar Orlando and Wonder Works.
According to the permits that have been recently filed with the South Florida Water Management District, a new 11,260-square-foot skydiving facility is planned to be build on the new location. In addition, there will be a retail space of 11,700 square feet. The plot is at 8969 International Drive which is the current location of a Hawaiian Rumble Adventure Golf attraction.
Nick Romeo, director of marketing and sales for IFly Orlando LLC confirmed that the company was looking for a new location on International Drive, however many of the details of the new development were still to be determined and would be revealed at a future date. There was no word about if there are any plans for iFly’s other location further north on I-Drive.
That new attraction will be across from the soon-to-be closed Wet ’n Wild, which Universal Orlando announced will stop operating by the end of the next year.
It is not a surprise that another attraction is coming to south I-Drive, since that area has been booming with new investment and interest because of projects like I-Drive 360, Mango’s Tropical Cafe, Skyplex and many others that have come on the scene over the last few years.
