The Orlando area proves to be becoming more and more attractive for tourists. The great Florida climate and the many attractions around are drawing more people to come here for a vacation. The Orlando International Airport and the nearest port – Port Canaveral are set to expand in the next years and Orlando’s hotels and restaurant are ready to meet their guests with a high class service. Orlando-area hotels saw the destination’s highest-ever revenue per available room (RevPAR) in 2013, according a report cited by the Orlando Sentinel. Last year, the figure hit $72.04, up 7.8 percent year-over-year, and slightly higher than the previous record of $71.79, which was set in 2007 at the pre-recession height of the local hotel market. However, Orlando is far off from being the best in Central Florida when it comes to revenue per available room. Lake Buena Vista outshines all other areas of town with RevPAR of $88.29. West Kissimmee had the lowest at $34.09. Also this week, the Orlando Sentinel 16th Foodie Awards winners were revealed.
